haven’t posted in over a month and have no photos to add. kind of a lazy time with not much scenery.
spent a week in Riviera Maya…ate like a pig and played some golf. temps in mid-upper 90’s, 1st day almost dehydrated…next 2 times drank 4 liters of water each round. brutal!!
home for Christmas…good visit at Liz’s (thanks) with Kate and Dale…great xmas dinner at Mike and Bridget’s.
Back on the road to lake charles then baton rouge where I watched my Spartans get embarassed by Alabama.
week in New Orleans on St charles ave. severe head cold hampered 1st few days. trolled bourbon st in french qtr…not impressed…real tacky and touristry(reminded me of Duval St in Key West but with balconys). visited World War II museum(don’t miss). watched a film narrated by Tom Hanks that recapped the war with the theater seats moving with the gunfire and explosions. it was really well done. Had a great dinner at Mr Johns Steakhouse next to hotel…awesome seafood gumbo. sat a few tables from Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints head coach. no, I didn’t bother him!
on to the Beau rivage casino resort in Biloxi…right up there with vegas. lost my ass first night, took me 2 days to make it back. saw Louis Black, brutally funny. too cold to play golf.
past week spent in Destin,fl with the whitest,most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. Snow birds everywhere. played 2 great courses: kelly plantation and emerald bay.
leaving tomorrow for tampa.
